I hope everyone enjoyed the snow days last week. We will resume a normal schedule tomorrow, January 22nd. We will have math and spelling homework this week. Class pictures have been rescheduled for February 9th. The state reading 3D assessment has opened. The first grade team will assess students on foundational reading skills and reading comprehension. Students will be assessed in math using the MAPS computer assessment. The report card has been redesigned! They will be sent home in February. I will schedule mid-year parent conferences (if needed) after all assessment data has been collected and report cards have been sent home.
Letterland: We will have our Unit 15 Letterland spelling test tomorrow, and will begin Unit 16.

Literacy: Students will identify key details and the central message of informational text.
Writing: Students will focus on one topic and add details.
Math: We will wrap up Topic 6 with our post-assessment tomorrow, January 22nd. We will begin Topic 7 where students will understand tens and ones.
Social Studies: Students will explore maps and map symbols.
