Parents,
We had such a great time on our field trip on Thursday! Although it was a little cold and wet, the students really enjoyed themselves, and so did I! Thank you to all the parents that made our day such a success!
Parents are invited to the First Grade Animal Showcase on Friday morning 8:30 am -9:00 am. Please park in the parking lot across from the entrance rather than the bus/teacher parking lot. Carpool is usually finished around 8:00 so it's perfectly fine to arrive closer to 8:30. Parents will drop in our classroom and view the work from our different habitat groups. We are working in collaborative groups to further explore specific habitats such as the Arctic, African Savannah, Grasslands, Woodlands, Ocean, and Desert.
Our literacy objectives integrate with our science curriculum to read and write informational text. Students are reading to identify text features, key details, and important information.
We will continue with Unit 9 in Letterland. Monday will be Day 3 for us. The Letterland calendar is on our class website.
We will begin Topic 4 in math. We will be learning Subtraction Facts to 20. Students will use familiar tools to help them solve subtraction facts and word problems.
Keep those cans of food coming to help collect for our families in need!!
Report cards will go home tomorrow.
Important Dates:
Nov. 17th- Animal Showcase 8:30-9:00
Nov. 22-24th- Thanksgiving Holiday- NO SCHOOL
