Hi Parents,
As you all know, our class started a new behavior system on Thursday. Class Dojo was ineffective for our class. I have decided to try a "Clip up/Clip Down" chart.
Every student has a clip with his/her name on it.
All students start in the middle on green.
My students clip up (to blue, pink or purple) when they:
-go the extra mile to help a student in need.
-are the first or second to do what I ask.
-are extra polite and respectful.
-do amazingly good work.
My students clip down (to yellow, orange or red) when they:
-interrupt me when I'm teaching.
-are disrespectful to another student or adult.
-cannot sit still or purposely keep another student from learning.
-do not behave during lunch time or specials
Here are the consequences for yellow, orange and red:
Yellow: This is a warning. Students should stop and think about the choices they're making
Orange: Think Sheet- Student will be asked to complete a sheet explaining why they chose to make the choices they made. This is sent home for you to sign and return the following day.
Red: Parent Contact- I will be contacting you via email or phone to discuss the day. This could also result in a referral or an office visit.
Students will now use their agendas to draw a circle with the color that they are on for that day. Please look at this daily to see your child's behavior in the classroom and sign it. Thinks Sheets or Referrals will also be stapled inside the agenda.
